Food and Healthy Eating

At Little Sprouts children are provided with all of their meals. I ask that you do not send your children in with their own food because some children have allergies and dietary requirements. 

I understand how important it is for your little ones to eat healthy and wholesome meals during the day. Please let me know of any particular dietary requirements that you wish for me to follow. Alongside main meals, we eat regular healthy snacks throughout the day. 

Little Sprouts prides itself on it’s delicious, healthy, home cooked meals and we frequently eat the fruit and vegetables that we have grown ourselves in the garden. Children are encouraged to pick the fruit and vegetables straight from the plant, and often help with preparing meals. This promotes a healthy and happy relationship between children and their veggies, giving them a sense of responsibility and pride of what they have produced!

We eat a variety of different vegetarian meals at Little Sprouts. Here are a selection of different meals that we offer:

Breakfast:

Porridge (with cinnamon, apple, nutmeg, raisins)

Variety of fresh fruit

Toast

Scrambled egg on toast

Lunch:

Lentil Lasagne

Sweet Potato and Lentil Coconut Curry

Vegetable Spaghetti Bolognese

Vegetable Chilli with Brown Rice

Dinner:

Jacket Potatoes (with baked beans, cheese, sweetcorn, hummus)

Avocado/ Cheese/ Beans on wholemeal toast

Pasta with Seasonal Vegetables
